Prof. Dr. Esin Koç graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1986. After  completing her neonatology subspecialization at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine  between 1991 and 1994,  she worked at the University of Graz in 1994, and at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1995 as an observer fellow.

Koç became associate professor in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Health and Diseases in 1997 and professor in 2002. Prof. Dr Esin Koç, has also held administrative positions such as a Board Member of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine,.

Between 2010 and 2015, Koç served as the General Secretary of Turkish Neonatal Society and has been serving as the President of Turkish Neonatal Society since May 2015.

She is also the president-elect of UENPS,  the vice president of IAPM and a commitee member of EAPM-Preterm Birth Special Interest Group.

In Turkey, she is the head of TUKMOS (Turkish Ministery of Health-Neonatology Education Board),  Scientific Advisory Board member of Turkish Ministery of Health, SGK  Health Policies, member of Turkish Ministery of Health, Neonatal and Pediatric Health Scientific Commitee and a board member of ‘ Cellular Therapies Scientific Advisory Board of Turkish Ministry of Health. She was also appointed as the the head of the ‘Ministry Coordination of the Neonatal Intensive Care Control and Evaluation Scientific Commission’in 2024.

Prof. Koç is the Head of Divison of Neonatology at Gazi University,.and has more than 150 articles published in national and international scientific journals.
